A group of like-minded buyers have decided that Hotai should not get off so easily on the supposed “mistake”. Instead, we aim to bring equity and finality to the ordeal. If buyer defaults on buying the car, deposits are forfeited. If seller defaults on selling the car, why is it that deposits are just simply returned?

Or, why should Hotai be able to delay delivery to end of 2026—a whole year and more after the initial 100 cars have all been imported into Taiwan? Worse yet, Hotai won’t even guarantee that the right car will be here by end of 2026. They will simply delay into 2027 and bank on the consumers’ inability to act and protect their own interest.
